A Glance at the Life of Imam Sadiq (AS)

702 A.D was born in Medina to Imam Muhammad Baqir (AS) and Umm Farwa 

733 A.D His father passed away.

733 A.D The period of his leadership (Imamate) started under the ruling of Hisham b. 'Abd al Malik.

745 A.D His son, Imam Musa al-Kazim was born. 

733-750 Due to the tweaking of the Umayyad Caliphate, he found the chance to have relatively wider scholarly activities and trained around 4000 religious experts, who passed on the vast number of narrations told by him to the next generations.

733-750 A.D Held many debates with theologians of other schools and some atheists.

733-750 A.D Stood against the so-called Islamic sects that deviated from the true Islamic teachings of Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH&HP) .

754 A.D Under the dictatorship of al-Mansur al-Dawaniqi, the 2nd Abbasid Caliph, he and his followers were under severe pressures, including attempts to captivate or martyr them.

765 A.D Was poisoned by al-Mansur al-Dawaniqi and martyred.
