Mutual respect and being kind with each other are among the two most significant moral lessons of Islam. Therefore, backbiting in Islam is among the acts that are highly forbidden. Many verses of Quran, narrations from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the twelve Imams (AS) has emphasized this fact through different perspectives. Imam Hussain (AS) highlights the importance of observing what we say behind others' back and always try to put ourselves in the absent person's place and imagine our own feelings if those words were said about us.
